Okay what am i, a hippie?

Well long before i knew more about hippies i used to love any movies or stories that has even a small touch of hippie culture..i have always LOVED the sort of Fashion/Style that i later found out was hippie..I have a GREAT affinity to do druds though I HAVE NOT TOUCHED as much as a cigarette let alone alcohol or drugs so far..I’m 24 now and I cant stop finding out more about 60′s culture, the beatles and even drughs!!…i have never been interested in alcohol but DRUGS??!! whats wrong with me?

I think you are just a nostalgia buff. It is really too late for you to be a hippie. That time has long since passed.
Having an interest in the hippie culture is fine. I would caution you about your interest in drugs. You may want to do some research on the effects of the kinds of drugs you are interested in before some guy decides to have you try pot, LSD, cocaine, or heroine so you can see what it’s like.’
Unfortunately there are many movies and TV programs that exaggerate the effects of drugs and drug users use this as ammunition to convince people to take drugs. Reefer Madness from the 1930s is an example. You see people acting crazy and go around with dilated pupils and guys jumping out of the window and killing themselves.
If you do decide to try pot, then cocaine, LSD, heroine, please be careful. Pot is not physically addictive but you may not be in your right state of mine if you are with some guy and you are stoned and then you have to make a decision to have sex with him or not.Sober you would probably say no. Stoned, who knows as pot tends to loosen a person’s inhibitions.
Cocaine affects different people differently. For some, cocaine can be highly addicting. Some women, and men, become so addicted to cocaine that they trade sex for the drug. So guys like to get girls doing coke so that they can get them to trade favors for more. Here’s a free sample honey. Now if you want more, you have to pay for it. No money? LSD was originally used for two purposes. The first was in mental health to help patients cope with mental health issues. Timothy Leary was part of a group at Harvard that experimented with prison inmates and mental patients to see if LSD, peyote,and mescaline could have therapeutic benefits. Of course Leary thought it was only fair that he try the hallucinogens himself and later became a strong proponent of them. The military, the CIA, was using LSD to get foreign and domestic enemies of the country to confess, because when someone is on a bad LSD trip he or she will do anything to find relief.
Many people who take heroine find themselves getting into it to quell the side effects of other drugs. It is an opiate, and opiates are highly addictive. Few people that are sober decide to take heroine just to see what it’s like. The heroine user is usually trying to find relief from the bad side effects of other drugs or they could be in a great deal of pain and prescription medications from their doctors do not suffice.
I also noted your comment that you are not into free love. At 24 and being sober you are correct to be like that. But I caution you that if you do like these drugs and you become addicted to drugs you may find yourself compromising your standards to feed a habit.
If you are seeing someone or interested in someone who is a drug user, have him get counseling and you should get counseling yourself.
I am not going to scare you with things that may not happen. Using drugs is like playing Russian Roulette. With pot, it’s like playing the game with one bullet in the chamber. With heroine, its like playing roulette with only one empty slot in the chamber.
You seem to be pretty aware of the dangers of alcohol. However, research on alcohol has been common place for many years and it’s legal. Many of the drugs common to the hippie culture are relatively new to Western civilization. Sure the Native Americans have used marijuana for years and some tribes use peyote and mushrooms. In South America the natives chew the cocoa leaves.
When a woman in her twenties is curious about the hippie culture, I have a feeling that a boy, or a much older man, who wants to seduce her is not too far behind this drug curiosity. Watch out!
